Pamela Baker- Licensed Funeral Professional

When a child is born, we celebrate a life begun. When a couple marries, we celebrate a life being built. When a loved one dies, we celebrate a life completed.

Pamela Baker grew up in Manhattan, Kansas, home of Kansas State University. It’s a little different growing up in a college town, and she was exposed to many different lifeways and philosophies at an early age. She learned that the personal experience makes a perspective valid and allows the individual to thrive. Learning about diverse sub-cultures and what they hold sacred continues to be a life-affirming study for her.

Pamela has spent the better part of twenty years assisting in the creation and preservation of memories for her clients. As a cake decorator, her creativity helped many people realize their ideas for celebrating birthdays, weddings, and other important occasions.

She managed the framing department for a local craft store and was blessed to work with personal and important artifacts from people’s lives. One of the most memorable was the handsomely decorated marriage certificate of a client’s grandparents. Yet that was no less valuable than a finger-painting done by a small child.

Pamela decided that she wanted to be employed in a position that would make a difference in the lives of others. It seemed natural that she would enter the funeral service. Within a few years, she graduated at the top of her class from the Mortuary department at Kansas City Kansas Community College. She went on to work with a busy embalming service, which gave her the knowledge and background to assist with more complicated cases, in a compassionate and sensitive manner.

Her sensitivity and genuine curiosity about the family’s background and beliefs have led to greater communication during the planning process. This means a more personalized service, one that is truly reflective of the spirit and personality of their loved one. She is committed to providing the kind of professional care and sensitivity that will help families through their time of need.

Recognizing the difficult transition families must endure when facing the loss of someone they love, she considers it an honor to serve them during their time of sorrow. In her respect and concern for the needs and wishes of families she serves, she hopes that her efforts will make life a little easier as they cope with the loss of loved ones.

Pamela maintains licenses for both Funeral Directing and Embalming, and is always looking to enhance her knowledge of the industry in order to serve her clients more effectively. She is particularly interested in personalization and environmental concerns.

In her free time, Pamela enjoys cooking, going camping, doing the First Friday artwalks and simply spending time with family and friends.
