She attended Kansas City Missouri Public Schools and graduated from West High School.  She continued her education at Penn Valley Community College where she received her Associates Degree in Business Administration.  Later she worked at UMB Bank for 10 years until she started having health problems. Janice loved life, she loved people, her family and most of all she loved the Lord! She was a member of Willis Chapel AME Church were she served until her last days.  She was a Sunday School teacher and served as a Steward.  She loved her church family.  Anyone she met she considered them an instant friend. Janice loved working on arts and crafts projects, jewelry making, but writing children stories was her favorite hobby. She volunteered, and was invited to elementary schools to read her original stories to children in the first, second, and third grade classes. She often held arts and crafts sessions in her home for the neighborhood children. They loved it and her so much.  She became "Grandma" to many neighborhood kids including her own biological grandchildren. She loved family gatherings and bragging on her children and grandchildren. Janice spent the last few years at Hope Health Adult Daycare Center where she had many friends. They loved her so very much and planned to visit her this week; however, God had other plans for her. Janice was a servant and a solider.  She served the Lord with gladness and always fought for what was right.  She fought for her health for many years having endured many surgeries and illnesses.
